I'm not sure where to post this, and maybe you'd like to move it to the Video Library. Video footage from the 1999 Martin Luther King Conspiracy Trial, where William Schaap discusses the history of US Government Approved disinformation through control of the media up until the 1990's. Some very interesting quotes in there. I found particularly interesting two observations that Schaap makes: i) Most Americans tend to believe everything their government says (I'd add British into that equation too), whereas Europeans tend to disbelieve everything their government says. Living in Italy, I can confirm this is true. ii) When people are told for years through the media how something happened, their brains are programmed so that when they finally here the truth they don't believe it, ignore it, and move on, and the original untrue version prevails. This I believe is what 9/11 truth is up against. Now the videos. Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 (some footage lost in this section - refer to transcripts) Part 7 Part 8 The transcript is found here (includes other testimonies): www.thekingcenter.org/news/trial/Volume9.html

I have to say, I found the whole thing really rather depressing. To hear about the scale of programme... well, it's just breathtaking. The upshot is, the American people are paying maybe $1 billion per year to be lied to and, even if they subsequently discover the lie, they have essentially become programmed into either denying the new reality or else accepting it without question. I really don't see how the citizenry can ever escape this sort of widespread deception. These propagandists exist not only within the intelligence services but also deeply embedded within just about every media organisation you care to name. How on earth do you escape the clutches of such a monster? Listening to Schaap's testimony, you get some sense of the fanaticism that drives these people and their willingness to perpetrate vile acts under the cover of the very propaganda they generate. Unfortunately, the two publications Schaap was involved with - Covert Action Quarterly and Lies of Our Times - are defunct. The former does maitain a website but the last issue was posted in 2005 and no back issues are accessible. A Google search for the latter threw up a very thought-provoking article by Wade Frazier called Lies I Was Raised With. It's very long and I was tempted to reproduce it here in several parts (and still might), but for now, here's the link. Lies I Was Raised With
