With breathtaking arrogance, the UK's clown Prince Brown's response to Ireland's sensible rejection of the farcical EU treaty was to declare that the Irish need a "short period of reflection". Meanwhile, of course, the UK will press ahead with ratification, notwithstanding the fact that Ireland's rejection should, theoretically, scupper the whole deal.
And Miliband's claim that there would be "no bulldozing of either the Irish government or the Irish people" was classic Orwellianism, since he means precisely the opposite.
Thanks for trying, Ireland but, the bottom line is, you're going to have to keep voting on this matter until you say "Yes".

Your last sentence sums it up. Keep voting until you say yes. On another forum I'm perplexed by the ignorance of people on what is going on here. Some people like to churn out the same old crap that Euro-skeptics are xenephobic and scared off by stories in the Daily Mail about Europe telling us that our chocolate is not chocolate. Well, actually, with that last point, it does irk me a lot that Europe decides what is right for all of us. I love Europe and Europeans, but I hate the idea of a unified Europe. It serves the purpose of the international bankers - we are heading towards a one-world government, no doubt.
